Project Overview
The Hemlo Gold Mine is located 35 kilometers east of the town of Marathon, Ontario and it remains one of the country’s most established gold mining districts. Hemlo is an underground and open pit operation with a long history of delivering steady gold output. Over its multi-decade mine life, Hemlo has produced more than 25 million ounces of gold, highlighting the scale and significance of the deposit. The site benefits from established infrastructure, including a mill and processing facilities, and is supported by a skilled workforce drawn from surrounding communities. Hemlo has the capacity for processing up to 10,000 tpd consists of grinding, cyanide leaching, carbon-in-pulp (CIP), carbon stripping and reactivation, electrowinning, and refining.
The Hemlo deposits are best described as orogenic gold deposits hosted within Metasediments and volcanoclastic. Ongoing mine development and optimization efforts are focused on extending the life of the operation through deeper underground exploration, improved mining methods, and efficiency initiatives.
